چکیده

This study was conducted to evaluate different priming treatments for wheat grains with Nostoc muscorum, and Arthrospira platensis water extracts periods (2, 6, 12 h). The results showed that h induced growth parameters of the emerging seedlings (lengths shoot root, their fresh dry weights). Also, pigments, carbohydrates, proteins content were improved in response treatments. highest estimates all measured are recorded A. extract followed by N. muscorum finally tryptophan (as a synthetic stimulator). Biochemical analyses presence secondary metabolites as phenolic flavonoid compounds. Such compounds may be responsible antioxidant activity which determined using DPPH, hydrogen peroxide, phosphomolybdenum radical scavenging assays. Furthermore, subjected gas chromatography-mass spectroscopy (GC-MS) indicates bioactive this extract, mainly 2-Pentanone, 4-hydroxy-4-methyl-, 3,7,11,15-Tetramethyl-2-hexadecane-1-ol, 3-Amino-2,3-dihydrobenzoic acid. These components, addition other detected ones, acted synergistically promote compared tested controls.

Seed Priming With Plant Growth-Promoting Rhizobacteria Alleviate Salinity Stress In Wheat Plant

The objective of this paper was to study the effects of two strains of isolated plant growth-promoting rhizobacteria (PGPR) on physiological and biochemical changes of wheat leaves under salinity conditions. The sterilized seeds were soaked in distilled water (control) and Nutrient Broth liquid medium of Enterobacter cloacae and Bacillus cereus (inoculated treatment) for 2 hours. After 10 days ...

Biotransformation of AD and ADD using Nostoc muscorum

The potential of microalgae for steroid transformation has been studied less than other microorganisms. They have been applied for the years in the treatment of environmental pollutions and preparation of nutrients. At the first time, Abul-Hajj and Qian indicated the conversion of androstendione (AD) to testosterone with eleven different strains of microalgae. Previtera’s group showed the trans...

Effects of microelements (Fe, Cu, Zn) on growth and pigment contents of Arthrospira (Spirulina) platensis

A laboratory experiment was conducted to assess the bioaccumulation of microelements Fe 2+, Cu 2+, Zn 2+ and their effects on the growth and pigment contents of Spirulina platensis in Zarrouk’s media. The mentioned metals concentrations enhanced separately to tenfold of the Zarrouk’s content. The results indicated no differences in the dry weights for the different medias (p>0.05). A rapid incr...

Role of pH on antioxidants production by Spirulina (Arthrospira) platensis

Algae can tolerate a broad range of growing conditions but extreme conditions may lead to the generation of highly dangerous reactive oxygen species (ROS), which may cause the deterioration of cell metabolism and damage cellular components. The antioxidants produced by algae alleviate the harmful effects of ROS. While the enhancement of antioxidant production in blue green algae under stress ha...
